Five very good reasons to hire a motorhome and a few things to consider on the way.

The most obvious reason to rent a motorhome or camper is, of course, a well-earned holiday. If you are drawn to camping but would rather sleep in a proper bed, this is the perfect compromise. Campsites offer so many options, you can enjoy the beach, the mountains, and the city all in one holiday while returning each night to your own comfortable, familiar space.

If you're travelling with children, the space to pack extra toys, books and activities makes even the rainiest of days a breeze. For teens and older children, the Luton beds above the cab give them a perfect space of their own. Holidays are a great opportunity to reconnect, share adventures and make memories.

We often have customers hiring vans for celebrations, including milestone birthdays, retirements and even weddings. Having enough beds is often an issue when getting together with extended family, but the complexities of modern families and their varying dynamics can lead to friction. Everyone has their own rules, needs and boundaries, bringing your own space to the party can be a real game-changer. It's a place to escape to, to catch your breath and recharge.

Hiring a motorhome for a festival brings many benefits, especially with your own toilet and shower on board. Having a comfy bed to fall into at the end of the day is always a bonus, and should the weather turn poor, you're soon warm and dry again. Pitching up is quick and easy, avoiding the long trek to your pitch with everything, including the kitchen sink and no worries about packing up a wet tent at the end of your stay.

There are some additional considerations when taking a van to a festival. Make sure the van you hire has everything you need; it may not need a solar panel, as many modern vans are pretty energy-efficient. A water carrier/large watering can is a good idea for topping up your water tank. Always speak with your hire company about your plans, as failure to do so can leave you unequipped and potentially even uninsured.

A campervan honeymoon may not be every couple's idea of the perfect escape, but if you love camping, it's definitely worth considering. Plan a road trip, travelling to the places most special to you both, the place you met, and revisiting holiday spots you've shared.

Picture cosy nights by the campfire, walks on the beach, breathtaking sunsets, chilled bubbly in the fridge and your own private retreat away from the world. Some campsites even offer pitches with hot tubs. You can make it as luxurious or as basic as you want. The moments you create will last a lifetime.

Some people have grander plans and fall in love with the freedom a motorhome can bring. If you are thinking of buying, it's a big decision with many things to consider. How big? What layout? Brand new, second-hand, coachbuilt, or panel van conversion? There are so many questions, but how do you decide? Choosing to hire before you buy is a great way to narrow down your answers, especially if this is a new way of travelling for you.

Start small, take a few days and get a feel for it. If it still ticks all those boxes, take an extended trip. You could even hire a couple of different vans; it's all good experience. When you feel ready to purchase, you'll be better prepared with a good idea of what works for you and what doesn't. You might be surprised by the outcome.

These are just some of the reasons people choose to hire from us, and we love hearing the stories behind the adventures. For some, it's a dream they have nurtured for a very long time; for others, it's a solution to a tricky problem. But whatever your reason, let us make your trip one to remember.
